This qualification meets the needs of candidates who work in a wide range of children and young people?s settings covering the age range 0 to 19 years. Candidates will choose one of the following routes: working with children with disabilities and special educational needs, nursery assistant, or out of school club. Learners considering this framework should have an interest in working with children and should be suitable to do so as it is a requirement to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Entry requirements

There are no mandatory entry requirements for this Apprenticeship framework. However employers are looking to attract applicants who have a keen interest in child care and/or a caring for young children in a particular setting such as pre-school, child minder, nursery, cr?che They expect applicants to demonstrate a "can do" attitude and have at least basic numeracy and literacy skills on which the Apprenticeship will build.

Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights in Health, Social Care, Children and Young People's Settings (RQF)
